Galileo (operating system)
Galileo was 32-bit operating system under development by Acorn Computers. The operating system was scheduled to be the successor of RISC OS in 1998, but was cancelled when the workstation division closed as part of Acorn's restructuring in 1998.
The operating system was to offer preemptive multitasking and stable performance through quality of service. It was designed as a substitute for dedicated multimedia chips in the consumer Internet appliance market.[1]
